Moving lift height: which equipment suits your floor?
A floor number alone is not enough to select a lift. Actual height, distance from the frontage, obstacles and load determine the equipment. Give LOCA - LIFT these details and have feasibility confirmed rather than booking solely on the basis of a floor count.

Floor number and height are different details
Two apartments on the same numbered floor may be at different heights. A raised ground floor, commercial unit or high ceilings change the level to reach. Provide the exact floor and the opening height if known. A wide frontage photograph supplies useful context, but it does not replace a technical assessment.
Setup changes usable reach
The lift works between its position on the ground and an opening. A recessed frontage, wide pavement, garden or intervening balconies can change the setup. Mention visible trees, cables and anything that appears to obstruct the route. The team may need further details before selecting equipment for the address.
Height does not answer the weight question
An item can be at a reachable height yet present a problem because of weight, dimensions or a narrow opening. Supply measurements and a known or clearly estimated weight. Do not infer capacity from a photograph or a job at another property: equipment needs to suit your particular configuration.
Have the equipment confirmed in the quote
LOCA - LIFT websites show vehicle-mounted, trailer and electric lifts. A capacity published for one machine does not automatically apply to another. Ask which equipment is proposed, what load it can take in that setup and how loading and receiving will be organised. Resolve uncertainties before treating the visit as confirmed.
Details to prepare
- Exact address and floor
- Wide view of frontage and setup space
- Opening and item dimensions
- Known weight or a clearly labelled estimate
- Obstacles, setback and parking options
Useful questions
Can I convert a floor into metres using a fixed rule?
No. Buildings differ. Give the known details and have the provider assess the level and suitable equipment.
Is the largest lift always the best choice?
Not necessarily. Access, ground conditions and available space matter too. Have the choice confirmed for your job.
